The Integrated Fencing team were delighted when we found out we had won the fencing package for HHVC, one of Morgan Sindall’s high profile contracts. This contract included the install of over a 1000 linear metres of SR1 twin wire fencing and gates, along with 358 SR1 fencing systems to secure the boundary to the new school..
The challenge
Alongside the SR1 boundary systems, there was hit and miss fencing to bin stores and sprinkler tanks and electric enclosure, post and rail systems, knee rail system, pedestrian guard rails and also automated and manual rising arm barriers to bus bays and vehicle access.
Certain lines of fencing on this contract were running along known services. To keep working within Morgan Sindall’s safe system of works procedure – of no mechanical or hand digging within 5 metres of any known service – Integrated Fencing were tasked to excavate the post foundations safely by use of our own tracked Vac-Ex.
The outcome
There were multiple services found whilst safely excavating with the Vac-Exwhere by using more conventional systems of digging, there would almost certainly have been a service strike.
Working closely with Morgan Sindall management, Integrated Fencing handed over the contract within the programme dates, to a good standard and most importantly, safely without any service strikes.
